The City of Rho partners with Kooling to simplify mobility data collection and improve understanding of travel across its territory
London and Milan, 16 September 2026. The City of Rho, part of the Metropolitan City of Milan, has entered into a two-year agreement with Kooling to make the collection and processing of mobility data across its territory more efficient, in support of both local businesses and the Administration itself. The first operational area covers the collection, standardisation and aggregation of systematic commute mobility data at territory level as well as regulatory compliance streamlining for large businesses and public entities resident in the area.
The initiative is being presented during European Mobility Week, which once a year brings innovation highlights on services and technology that can make urban life more accessible, affordable and enjoyable. In the City of Rho, the partnership with Kooling answers a concrete need of local businesses: making mobility-driven regulatory compliance more efficient, cutting administrative time and cost. The partnership also brings standardisation and quality to the mobility data of the territory and insight into citizens and visitors’ demand, enabling the Administration to make effective, data-backed decisions on the development of infrastructure and services.
Thanks to the road and rail axes that cross its territory, Rho is a strategic node of metropolitan mobility. Fiera Milano and MIND also place it at the centre of flows involving residents, workers, businesses and visitors, with needs that extend beyond municipal boundaries.
"The value of this collaboration is twofold," says David Falconi, Founder and CEO of Kooling. "For businesses it means less time and lower cost in managing mobility-driven regulatory compliance while bringing effective solutions and services to their workforce; for the Council it means accessing aggregated, homogeneous information to better understand the territory's mobility demand. The standardisation of systematic home-work data is the first concrete area of work for this partnership, which Kooling is willing to invest in to increase the offer of services and value to both businesses and the Administration. In Rho we will bring the experience already gained internationally as well as in Italian metropolitan and urban contexts such as Genoa, Verona and Siena, offering local companies reserved terms for regulatory compliance services."
"We are opening a path to further services," says Valentina Giro, Councillor for Mobility. "The PSCL is the starting point of a collaboration that can evolve towards further digital tools in support of urban mobility, according to the needs of the territory and the priorities of the Administration. Understanding the habits of Rho's residents and creating a single platform serving both the Council and businesses will allow us to make any changes to the city's road network in line with the needs of those who live here. All of this puts us in direct dialogue with the people of Rho and lets us reflect in tune with the goals of European Mobility Week."
